"Creativity to me is anything your mind insists on doing. Insists as in repeatedly thinking, your mind makes you want to share something inside. it dwells inside you, for me I find myself always wanting to make something out of nothing. Something tangible, physical in whatever form, you just have to find the right medium to express this inward feeling." - TJ Letsa (photographer/Post Grad LLB Student)

"My thoughts on creativity are transitioning - I am becoming more aware of that moment of 'inspiration' being akin to an alchemical reaction, a blend of forces both internal and external. I used to believe that my ideas were being generated entirely by mind, but now I have found - through beginning to practice meditation - that it is when I quiet my thoughts or "turn down the volume" on my inner dialogue that the ideas seem to appear out of nowhere. Whether it's a clearly formed composition for a painting, the metaphorical title I've been searching for, or the basis for a song it seems to appear when I focus on NOT thinking, or trying, just opening myself to receiving. (I realized 'intuitive' reactions while I'm in the middle of painting a canvas are coming from this same place.) It's exciting because the number of interesting ideas available to me are beginning to seem limitless, but in order to bring them to fruition, that's whe

"Creativity is a hard thing to define using words. For me, I paint. Instead of sentences and words that don't quite fit, I use pigment and brush and water to convey the way I feel about the grand and nebulous idea of Creation. I feel like a humble vehicle, used to turn people toward the absolute beauty of everything that has been created in this world. I try to capture that living passion that is roiling under the skin of every person." - Melanie Norris (Artist)

"For me creativity is to constantly be looking, seeing and investigating.  Scour everything in your path.  Weather it's through books or your environment.   Look up, down and all around. Hopefully this leads to  forming a new perspective on things and fuels  your imagination to create something great." - Duane Dalton (graphic designer/artist)

"The things I want to express are always in my everyday life. Although they are not something extraordinary, each moment never repeats again. They are just there for one time only.  When I encounter that kind of moment,I feel that  I would like to retain the scene and  share it with somebody else. I first started to create sculpture and painting combination work by being inspired by theater. By mixing 2D and 3D, I would like to express the feeling of my painting more lively as in theater.  I will keep pursuing my original but universal beauty." - Shintaro Ohata (Artist)

"For me creativity is the absence of fear and my camera allows me to capture exactly that. Unlike other photographers, story telling is not the purpose of my pictures.  I don't just capture moments, I capture deep feelings or should I say emotions. I like taking pictures of people when they express their sexy, sadness or whatever they feel. You can't stage a true feeling. If that's honestly how you feel, its seen clearly in the photo. The best part of what I do is getting to know the personalities of people, their stories and life struggles. Its amazing how much I learn from these people. Photography is an exciting journey, one I don't think has a destination... you can go on and on forever. " -  Chelsea Boatey  (photographer/model/artist/student)
